TEMPLE PROPERTIES ARE THE NEW TARGET

The other day, Endowments minister JC Diwakar Reddy of the congress was announcing that the temple properties such as lands etc will be sold and the money will be spent for the mainatanance of temples.
Sounds gr8, isn't it? But if you have a look at the Govt's history in supporting temples, you will come to know why this statement was not that encouraging. Out of an estimated 32000 temples in AP, over 29000 are today in complete shambles and no daily rituals take place there. The govt has done nothing over the years to better this situation. But now their eyes are on the rosy temple properties which could easily bring in the much needed money the officials and the politicians are looking for to fill their pockets. We will have to strongly protest this move. People who have generously donated to temples did so to help poor people in and around the temples. To carry out "Annadanam" etc.

But now the wicked ppl are out and focusing on these rich temple properties. Why dont these ppl look at the rich church which is flodded with dollars for carrying out forced conversions?
Pseudo secularists are out again to prove their credentials.

lets protest this and not allow this to happen.............................

Atleast i will by filing a RTI request to know the actual figures...........

Rakesh, Filing an RTI alone doesn't help...this needs to be stopped, they can't usurp temple properties likE this. No political party has the guts to take lands or cash from a Church or Mosque. There are so many rich Mosques and Churches, but the govt dare not touch them. Even if they do as little as use their lands, there are so many protests and arguments and riots. I'm not trying to be communal, I only wnat to highlight few points which I heard among many more...

Why do they subsidize any trips to Mecca? Is it promoting tourism? The government increases the ticket fares to Tirumala, they increase the darshan tickets cost, they increase the train fare. There is no subsidy for a person travelling to Tirumala, whether he is from Delhi or from Chittoor, but why should there be any subsidy for someone's personal foreign tour? Why should there be a Haj centre at hyderabad?

I don't know how many states do this, or have this, but I find it ridiculous to take money from a Temple to fund Haj pilgrimages.....

What runs is Minority appeasement. I'm not against the government helping pious Muslim pilgrims, if I could, I would help too, but I'm against this appeasement politics, and worse the robbery from temples. As said earlier an RTI won't help, some serious Court action . BTW I'm your same anonymous critic where we had so much argument about Sonia
